Planning A Vacation At A Waterfront RV Resort? Here's What You Need To Bring Along

If you're like many people who have recently decided to make an RV your next large purchase, you're probably looking forward to spending many happy hours on the road. RVs provide a great vacation option because you're taking your lodging with you wherever you go. Instead of jostling for a table in a crowded restaurant, you'll have the option of cooking your food in the open air, relaxing in your own bed, and blazing your own trail. All good adventures, however, begin with proper planning.

When planning a trip to a waterfront RV park, there are a few things you should consider bringing along to help ensure that you get the most from your trip.

RV Essentials

Make sure you have all the necessary items for your RV, including hoses, power cords, and adapters. If you're going to be traveling on gravel or otherwise rough roads, it's a good idea to pack along a tire kit as well so you'll have the ability to quickly change a tire if you need to.

Outdoor Gear

Bring along items like chairs, tables, and umbrellas for sitting outside and enjoying the waterfront view.

Water and Beach Toys

Depending on the activities available, you may want to bring along items like rafts, kayaks, or paddle boats to enjoy the water. Don't forget to bring a floating ball or other water toy if you'll be traveling with a canine companion that loves the water.

Fishing Gear

If the park allows fishing, you should bring along your fishing gear and necessary licenses.

Personal Items

Don't forget to pack clothes, toiletries, and any other personal items you will need for your trip.

Food and Supplies

RV parks usually have stores on site, and some even have restaurants or cafes, but it's always good to bring along some non-perishable food and supplies.

Entertainment

Bring along books, games, and other forms of entertainment for downtime at the RV park. Staying at a waterfront recreational vehicle park is a great way to step away from screens,

First Aid Kit

Always a good idea to have a basic first aid kit, especially when you'll be around water and doing outdoor activities. Because stinging and biting insects, especially mosquitos, are attracted to water sources, be sure to bring insect repellant and a topical bug bite

It's a good idea to check with the RV park you hit the trail to see if they have any specific rules or recommendations, and don't forget to pack a fresh sense of adventure.
